Process films are paced by the work, not by the cutting: a hand finishing a stroke decides where the cut goes, and getting ahead of it makes the craft look easy. The grade is doing something specific here — pulling texture forward so grain, dust and tool marks carry the weight that a wider shot would have needed narration for. Several separate practices are ordered to feel like one continuous body of knowledge.
