Ahmed Gonaim — Video Editor and Filmmaker

Ahmed Gonaim — أحمد غنيم — is a video editor and filmmaker based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has worked in post since 2007 and currently leads post-production at Direct Group in Riyadh.

He came to it from engineering and from graphic design, which is a longer way round than most and shows in the work: the structural half of editing — what a sequence is doing, and in what order — is the half he treats as the job.

The work is post-production, not photography. Footage arrives and the craft starts there: the cut, the composite, the motion graphics, the grade, and the versions a campaign needs for the places it will play. Directing is his too — on A Lot Like Life and on the PUBG campaign.
