Three and a half minutes of ceremony is a long time to hold without a plot, so the track becomes the structure and the lyric type on screen becomes its punctuation. Cutting to music rather than to events means the emotional beats are fixed in advance and the footage has to be found to meet them — the opposite of how an event film is normally assembled, and the reason this one plays as a piece rather than a record.
