Two entrepreneurial stories that have to arrive at the same place without the film telegraphing it. The intercutting is the whole mechanism: the two strands are kept on separate beats early and gradually brought onto the same one, so the audience senses the convergence before Biban appears and the meeting reads as inevitable rather than arranged. At four minutes, that gradient is what stops two parallel stories from becoming two short films.
